Normal ammuntion consists of four Elements: The bullet, the cartridge, the propellant (usually gunpowder or cordite), and the primer which ignites the propellant. The ammunition of the TITAN C2 instead only uses two: The bullet and the propellant. These two elements are stacked togheter in pen-form and are loaded directly into the barrel, were they are electronically fired. By using caseless ammunition and a more effective way of packaging, the TITAN C2 can load up to 48 Rounds 10x12.8 mm Nato which packs the firepower of a 7.62 or greater. Variable rates of fire are also possible, as well as firing any possible number of rounds with one pull of a trigger. The gunman can basically adapt the TITAN C2 from precision to stopingpower and back, just as the mission requires.
Another advantage is the flexibility in projectile-to-explosive ratio of the design, which enables firing many smaller bullets with smaller charges or less bullets with a larger charge for higher velocity and maximized distance. Even firing a large projectile, like a grenade with a small charge for shot distances is possible. |
